Mother's Day. A day we celebrate the moms of the world. Birth moms, Stepmoms, Fur moms, moms whose babies never made it to this Earth. Adopted moms, Foster moms. All moms.
One whole day to tell them and show them how much we appreciate them and thank them for all that they do.
Some moms get breakfast in bed, brunch in a a restaurant, a cute new flower pot that their children planted and painted. Cards with out pouring of love. A day off from cleaning maybe.
Some moms still have to work. Some moms still have to do all the same they do on this special day. But, none of that matters to us. Why? Because we'd all do it over again to be a mom.
Being a mom is the best badge of honor I could ever ask for. It's been hard. It's been trying. Some days I ask myself why? But, none of that matters. It's all worth all of the other 99% of the time.
The sloppy kisses, the disaster in the kitchen from the pancakes they made all by themselves. The clean bathroom floor with a toilet bowl with no more water. The handmade gifts and cards.
Only having a small blurry image of a baby you never got to meet. A child you only got to hold for a moment before they were called away. A child you only had for a little while.
All of this is worth every moment we all became mothers.
To all the mom's out there, Happy Mother's Day.
